Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is a 2010 racing video game in development by Criterion Games and published by Electronic Arts for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows and the iPhone. A version for Wii was also developed by Exient. These games will support output of 3D-display on the PlayStation 3 and Windows. Hot Pursuit has been described as an additional "revolutionary" to the Need for Speed franchise, it is the 14th title in franchise and is scheduled to be released in November 2010.
Hot Pursuit went back to the roots of Need for Speed series' and take style gameplay of previous "Hot Pursuit"-title in the Need for Speed franchise with exotic cars and police chases high speed. This was mainly inspired by the original Need for Speed on 3DO. Hot Pursuit allows players to play both as a cop or a racer and will feature a full career mode to both roles. Relations between police and drivers are described as "a dog chasing a rabbit" with the police is more powerful than a racer. Each party has some power-ups including calling for barriers and jamming radar. The game took place in the fictional location called Seacrest County. It is fully open-world and features more than 100 miles (160 km) from the open road and, as a reference, it is four times larger than Paradise City, the city of Burnout Paradise. According to the criterion is the single-player, somewhere between 12-15 hours long, but with plenty of replay value.
Hot Pursuit also features a new social interaction system called "autolog" described as "up to the game." The game features both single-player and multiplayer modes of play with eight players, as the choice to live multiplayer racing, players can post notes and achievements in the feed-autolog for friends to see, which then can try to beat. Autolog also contains a system of experience called "Bounty". So far revealed only game mode is "Interceptor 1 vs 1", where the police chase a single rider, but more game modes to be disclosed. Other features include a player can add custom soundtracks to the game.
Cars
Driving model of the game is described as "fun and accessible". This is not arcade-style as Burnout Paradise, but far from the simulator. All cars in Hot Pursuit licensed real-world supercar, and this carlist described as "all you dream of driving a car, in the way you dreamed of driving them." Most cars will be available to both drivers and police, but some will be exclusive to each side. Also contained exclusively in the Hot Pursuit is the Porsche 918 Spyder. But the Ferrari, last seen in the DLC package Shift-but mainly absent from all other Need for Speed game since Hot Pursuit 2, will also be absent from the Hot Pursuit.
Plot:
latest game in the Need for Speed franchise, including the story, but Matt Webster, the producer of Hot Pursuit said, "We do not really think it necessary to enter the story. If you're the police, the goal is to increase ratings, while the racers aim is to get to The highest rank they could
